I am addressing two problems: the current state of Twitter and Google PageRanking.
Right now, Twitter looks completely hopeless. Thousands of people, ranting about sitting on sofas and walking up staircases. They do not know how to use Twitter in a way that could benefit the Internet community. The majority had never been taught they could do otherwise.
I am going to talk about one way Twitter can help the Internet move forward, and how it can be beneficial to your website.
Step one: Find someone with a problem and help them.
FOR FREE. Are you appalled yet? You should not be. Twitter is a great tool to assist peole. In 140 Characters or less and you are done and you probably left a great impression on whoever you decided to help. Unless you type the speed of a drunk man with his arms cut off, you could make several lasting relationships by simply directing them to a helpful link or giving them quick, useful advice.
You are not done yet. If someone was having that problem, it is very likely others have had this as well.
You thought it was easy…because you knew about it. Elaborate on the Solution for others.
I will assume most people know how to use Search Engines. Knowing this, if someone is asking for help it is probable they can not find helpful results, meaning [a useful] answer is not out there, yet.
Write an article detailing how you solved this problem, and where you found your sources, if possible.
By elaborating on your solution, you will increase your chances of appearing on the search engine because your article should contain verbose clarifications and provide better means to describe what was involved. It is important to link back to where you found your information so they may benefit as well and be used for cross-reference.
Returning the Favor
If people find your contribution useful, they will most likely use either their site, a service, or an email to link back to you so others with the same problems or interests may be more likely to find it.
They might not. Good news though: you are not exempt from submitting your contributions. Sites like Reddit, StumbleUpon, Digg, SlashDot, Mashable, [etcetera]—are great ways for others to determine how useful it was. Providing they like it enough, you could have instant exposure.
Why Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is flawed
Search engines are returning lots of hit and miss information. Byesian [among other] learning algorithms are great; but more or less an assumption, which will never be as accurate as a human evaluation.
SEO is a waste of time, because although it allows a site to appeal to the current state of an algorithm, once it acquires a new set of data which alters its behavior—all the sites that were once optimized may thereafter plummet in rank.
One of the best known attempts to competing with all the websites involved in the whole SEO ‘game,’ you must break the flow of your article and repeat key words of the subject you are writing about along with alternative equivalents as much as possible, making it hard to read. If people do not want to read what you have to say your chances of being linked to are close to none.
Inbound links and good impressions are golden.
Why Google might hate me.
If people begin to network the way they share information more efficiently, learning algorithms should not be as effective. This will force them to rethink how they offer their service.
By having legitimate inbound links bringing in lots of traffic, you will have enabled yourself to almost ‘manipulate’ the search engine page rank order.
Granted, it would probably be accessible as an additional outlet, so it wouldn’t hurt the way they currently operate and hopefully would benefit the entire Internet community.
